What is different about Amazon Spain
Spain has its own packaging and producer-responsibility rules under EU law that Amazon verifies; the January sales period and Three Kings Day mean the peak lasts two weeks longer than in the US, and stock should be planned for it.
- Tax and compliance: Spanish VAT (IVA) is 21% standard and included in the listed price; VAT registration is required when you hold stock in Spain, and non-EU sellers should check the current requirement for a fiscal representative in Seller Central and with a Spanish adviser.
- Fulfilment: Spain is normally served through Pan-European FBA, with Spanish fulfillment centers enabled once the VAT position is settled; the European Fulfilment Network can ship cross-border from Germany or France at a higher per-order cost before that, and the Canary Islands are outside the EU VAT area with separate rules.
- Peak events: Prime Day in July, Black Friday and Cyber Monday in late November, and a Christmas season that extends through Three Kings Day on January 6, when gifts are traditionally exchanged; the regulated rebajas sales periods in January and July shape discounting.
